Families and children
Families

Milan Bergamo Airport has introduced a range of family-friendly facilities designed to make travel easier for families choosing BGY:
• Family Lane at security checks
A dedicated fast track for families with children up to 5 years old, helping reduce waiting times and providing smoother access to the departure area (2 accompanying adults).
• Children’s play areas
Bright and safe spaces for children to enjoy, with daily cleaning and maintenance. These play areas are located after the security checks, in the food court and in front of gate A13.
• Toilets with changing tables
Families travelling with young children have access to dedicated baby care spaces equipped with changing tables within the toilets.
Nurseries are located:
- On the ground floor of the terminal, in the arrivals area and near the check-in area.
- On the first floor of the terminal, after security checks, in the food court, in front of gate A13, and near gate B1.
Children
During the flight, specific regulations apply for children and unaccompanied minors:
• From 0 to under 2 years of age
Infants generally do not have their own seat on board and must travel seated on an adult’s lap.
• From 2 to under 12 years of age
Children are entitled to their own seat, usually at a reduced fare, and are allowed the same baggage allowance as an adult.
• Unaccompanied minors
Unaccompanied minors (typically between 4 and 14 years old, or 12 for some airlines) must be reported at the time of booking. A specific assistance procedure will automatically be activated, with airport staff assisting the child until boarding, at which point the airline staff will take over.
The parent or guardian must remain at the airport until the flight has departed. A similar assistance service is provided on arrival, with the minor being accompanied until they are reunited with the person designated during the booking process.
It is essential to check the age limits allowed to receive this service as the requirements can vary from one airline to another. It is recommended to contact the airline with which you are travelling for further information.
For departing passengers traveling with a stroller, it is generally allowed up to the boarding gate, where it will be taken over by the ground handler. Before heading to the gate, check with your airline whether the stroller needs to be tagged at check-in or if it can be tagged directly at the boarding gate.
For arriving passengers, the stroller will be delivered at the baggage claim area, in the “oversized baggage” section next to carousel 6.
