SACBO INVITES SECONDARY SCHOOLS TO THE “BIKE FUTURE CHALLENGE” PROJECT

SACBO, the management company of Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) — the first European airport certified as “Bike Friendly” — is promoting the “Bike Future Challenge” project for the 2025–2026 school year. The initiative is aimed at upper secondary schools in Bergamo and its province, with the goal of raising students’ awareness of sustainable mobility, cycle tourism, and slow tourism, actively engaging them in a creative challenge for a more sustainable future.

Schools that join the initiative by November 28, 2025, will take part in an educational program designed to bring younger generations closer to more responsible and environmentally conscious mobility. The project offers students the opportunity to develop reflections and concrete proposals that can have a positive impact on their community and local area.

The Bike Future Challenge fully embraces the spirit of the UN 2030 Agenda, helping guide young people’s work toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participating students will have the opportunity to:

  • develop cross-disciplinary skills in civic, environmental, and cultural education;
  • propose innovative solutions for sustainable mobility;
  • take part in real-life experiences related to the world of work and active citizenship;
  • meet experts, startups, and associations working in the field of sustainable mobility.

Schools can join the “Bike Future Challenge” by designing projects or creative works focused on sustainable mobility, taking part in a guided tour of the airport to discover facilities dedicated to cycle tourists, and attending the final event featuring workshops and project presentations. Each school can choose to participate in one or more of these activities based on its preferences.
