AT MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT, “OL CASÉL” COMES TO LIFE

At Milan Bergamo Airport, “Ol Casél” comes to life—the first Italian building dedicated to airport services constructed using architectural 3D printing technology. A project that stands as a symbol of innovation and sustainability, blending local tradition with cutting-edge technology.

A Sustainable Innovation Lab

“Ol Casél” was conceived as a service module for the new truck parking area at the Logistic Park of Milan Bergamo Airport. A pioneering work that combines efficiency, comfort, and reduced environmental impact, embodying the concept of “responsible construction”: building better while consuming less.
The initiative is promoted by EDILCO Srl, in collaboration with SACBO S.p.A. (the company managing Milan Bergamo Airport) and WASP, an international leader in architectural 3D printing.
Together, these partners have created a sustainable construction laboratory capable of integrating technical, design, and communication expertise into a single shared vision.

A Living and Participatory Experience

From November 24 to December 19, the construction site was transformed into an “open site,” allowing institutions, stakeholders, schools, and citizens to witness firsthand the 3D printing of Ol Casél’s walls. A unique opportunity to see the Crane WASP architectural 3D printer in action—state-of-the-art Italian technology capable of constructing a building quickly, sustainably, and using natural materials.

A Symbol of Place and Sustainability

The name “Ol Casél” evokes Bergamo’s rural heritage, reinterpreting the traditional countryside gatehouse in a contemporary key.
This dialogue between memory and future makes the project a tangible manifesto of Milan Bergamo Airport’s sustainable transition, contributing to the infrastructure’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) objectives.
“Ol Casél” is not just a building: it is a statement of intent, a concrete example of how construction can become education, culture, and shared experience.

A Shared Vision to Build the Future

With this project, Milan Bergamo Airport positions itself as a sustainable and innovative hub, capable of combining infrastructural growth with environmental responsibility. A place that does not merely host the future, but actively chooses to build it. “Ol Casél” is a concrete step toward a future in which building means regenerating, living better, and consuming less.
