MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT OPENS ITS DOORS TO ART

With the exhibiting of these works, SACBO, the company managing the airport which plays a strategic role in the social and economic fabric of the area, underlines the value of culture as an instrument for communication and promotion of the territory in which the airport is located.

The three works of art exhibited in the terminal are: Early 20th century African granary door; work by Giacomo Manzù, bronze, 1952; Fernando Botero, Cat (artist’s proof 1/2), 2002, bronze.

MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT RECEIVES THE REMAINS OF SAINT BERNADETTE OF LOURDES

The remains, contained in a special chest provided by the specialist airline to allow the protected transportation from the Sanctuary of Lourdes to the places of worship, were received on the morning of Wednesday 24 April in the presence of the management of SACBO and the airport authorities, as well as the general secretary of the diocesan curia of Bergamo, Monsignor Giulio Dellavite, and the parish priest of Orio al Serio, don Massimo Gualdi. The remains of Saint Bernadette were accompanied by father Nicola Ventriglia, the Italian chaplain of the Sanctuary of Lourdes.

The chest containing the remains then continued to the city of Alessandria, the first stage in the pilgrimage which will visit 34 dioceses from the north to the south of Italy and which will last until 22 August 2019.

VOLOTEA ANNOUNCES SUPPLEMENTARY FLIGHTS ON THE MILAN BERGAMO-OLBIA ROUTE

Volotea, the low-cost airline that connects medium and small destinations in Europe, is investing in Milan Bergamo Airport, increasing the frequency of flights to Olbia. In the summer period, there will be additional flights to easily and directly reach the Costa Smeralda. This route will see the number of weekly flights increase from 5 to 9, offering an even higher number of tickets for those wanting to travel to one of the most beautiful and desirable destinations in the Mediterranean. There are 5 destinations served by the airline from Milan Bergamo Airport: Lampedusa, Pantelleria and Olbia in Italy, and Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia.

“In preparation for the summer peak in traffic, we are further strengthening our offer of flights departing from Milan Bergamo Airport” – stated Valeria Rebasti, Commercial Country Manager Volotea Italy & South-eastern Europe. “Thanks to the additional flights programmed, we are making it ever easier to travel between Lombardy and Sardinia, increasing our flights from the airport by over 60% in July and August. For the next few months, in fact, we will be offering 22,000 tickets, equal to a total of 160 flights”.

THE NEW WEBSITE PARCHEGGIAEROPORTO.COM IS ONLINE

The new official website (www.parcheggiaeroporto.com) is online for the car parks at Milan Bergamo Airport managed by the company ViaMilanoParking. The website has completely new graphics, guaranteeing visitors an experience which aids navigation, rendering it clearer and more immediate.

The website has also been implemented with a series of services for customers.

The interactive map is directly connected to Google Maps, in order to provide the information necessary for visitors to reach the car park with just a few clicks.

In order to guarantee transparency, the Fees section has been updated to allow prices to be checked in real time. Furthermore, thanks to the FAQ section, users can resolve any doubts regarding the service and, in the event that they need further information, the menu bar offers an email address and a telephone number, guaranteeing a direct line of communication with just a simple click.
