EVERY SUNDAY TO SHARM EL SHEIKH FROM BERGAMO WITH GOING

Direct flights optioned by the tour operator Going and operated by AeroItalia will be running from 18 June until 5 November from Bergamo BGY to Sharm El Sheikh.

A sequence of charter operations that highlight an excellent schedule for holidaymakers; flights depart from Bergamo Airport at the convenient time of 12.55 p.m. every Sunday, arriving at the Red Sea at 5.25 p.m., in time to settle in at the Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort, the brand-new 5-star hotel chosen this year by the tour operator. The return flight is scheduled at 6.55 p.m. the following Sunday, allowing travellers to enjoy the services and most of the day at the beach, landing in BGY at 9.45 p.m.

FROM 23 JUNE 2023 A NEW ROUTE CONNECTING MILAN BERGAMO AND TBILISI WITH FLIGHTS OPERATED BY GEORGIAN AIRWAYS

Milan Bergamo Airport and Georgian Airways have announced the launch of the new route connecting Tbilisi International Airport, which will be operational from 23 June 2023 with twice-weekly flights every Tuesday and Friday. This is the 143rd destination to be served with direct flights in the 2023 summer season from Milan Bergamo Airport, and Georgia has become the 40th country to join the route network.

Flights will leave Tbilisi at 4.15 p.m. local time, and will arrive in Milan Bergamo at 6.45 p.m. The flight from Milan Bergamo will leave at 7.45 p.m. and will land in Tbilisi at 1.55 a.m. local time.

The flights have been scheduled to allow passengers to and from Tbilisi to also use Milan Bergamo as a transit hub to quickly connect to destinations in Southern Italy, such as Naples, Bari or Catania, as well as others in Europe and North Africa.

THE SACBO BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONFERS POWERS TO THE PRESIDENT GIOVANNI SANGA

The SACBO Board of Directors, appointed during the assembly on 9 May for the 2023- 2025 period, has renewed the appointment of powers.

In accordance with the proposal put forward by Gianni Scarfone, the role of president has been assigned to Giovanni Sanga, renewing the role assigned to him for the previous three years, with the attribution of relative powers, and the role of vice-president has been assigned to Yvonne Messi and Fabio Bombardieri.

The new Board of Directors is composed as follows: Giovanni Sanga (president), Yvonne Messi (vice-president), Fabio Bombardieri (vice-president), Gianpietro Benigni, Gianpietro Borghini, Carlo Mazzoleni, Yvonne Messi, Renato Redondi, Laura Pascotto, Gianni Scarfone, Maurizio Zerbini.

SACBO - BIS - INTERCULTURA SCHOLARCHIPS ARE ASSIGNED

The executive offices of SACBO were the location for the presenting of the scholarships for high-school students funded by SACBO and BIS in collaboration with Intercultura and the BergamoTerritorial Scholastic Department.

The project, now in its sixth season and related to the 2023-2024 school year, has seen the assigning of 3 BGY International Services scholarships to students taking part in the CrossDisciplinary Orientation Course (previously the work experience project) regarding the providing of assistance to passengers in the airport: Victoria Boselli (the Falcone Institute, Bergamo), Emanuele Ferrari (the Maxwell Institute, Milan) and Rosella Mazzola (the Vittorio Emanuele II Institute, Bergamo).

Three scholarships dedicated to children of SACBO staff were awarded to Marlene Badalucco (the Caniana Institute, Bergamo), Luna Facheris (the Giacomo e Pio Manzù Institute, Bergamo) and Giovanni Pizzaballa (the Don Lorenzo Milani Institute, Romano di Lombardia). The six students will spend a study holiday in Ireland, departing from Bergamo Airport to Dublin on 23 July, to return on 18 August, after having visited the Ryanair headquarters.

The scholarship presentation ceremony saw the presence of Emilio Bellingardi, the Managing Director of SACBO, Amelia Corti, the CEO of BGY International Services, Roberto Rampinelli, the Director of Human Resources for SACBO, and Mietta Rodeschini, representing Intercultura.

AEROITALIA RETURNS WITH THREE DAILY FLIGHTS ON THE MILAN BERGAMO-ROME FIUMICINO ROUTE

On Monday 15 May, AeroItalia recommenced operation of three daily return flights between Milan Bergamo and Rome Fiumicino airports. The schedule has been studied to allow passengers to fly to the capital and return at the most popular times, even in one day, and to guarantee connections and ongoing flights via Fiumicino to the Italian airports of Olbia, Alghero and Palermo (the latter from 1 June), as well as to Bucharest and Bacau in Romania. The flights are operated with De Havilland Dash DHC-8-Q400, 78-seater aircrafts, belonging to the partner airlines SkyAlps, guaranteeing rapid connections and elevated standard of on-board comfort.
