SACBO AND MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT AT VELO-CITY 2022

SACBO and Milan Bergamo Airport are playing a lead role at Velo-city 2022, the world cycling summit organised by the EFC, the European Cyclists’ Federation, which will be taking place in Ljubljana from 14 to 17 June. SACBO, represented by the president Giovanni Sanga and accompanied by Luca Gibellini, the environmental representative of the airport management company for the development of cycle path networks and bicycle use, took part on Wednesday 15 June in the event “Putting your employees on a bike: the impact of the Cycle Friendly Employer (CFE) certification scheme”, during which a presentation was made of the process that led SACBO to first receive Cycle Friendly Employer certification (the first European airport management company and the first Italian company to achieve “silver” ranking) in 2021, and then, in the same year, to obtain “Bicycle-Friendly Airport” certification, the first European airport to achieve this prestigious goal.

THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE HELLOSKY LOUNGE AT MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT

The HelloSky Lounge is celebrating its first anniversary since it opened in the departures area at Milan Bergamo Airport. Dedicated to international and domestic traffic and situated just before the new passport control area at the entrance to the non-Schengen area, its management has been entrusted by SACBO to GIS, a leading company in airport hospitality services based in Barcelona, Spain, and a branch of TAV Operation Services (TAV OS). The first anniversary was celebrated with a special cake in the presence of Albert Vilumara Perez, the CEO of CIS, Emilio Bellingardi, the managing director of SACBO, and Matteo Bau, the non-aviation commercial director for SACBO. Over the course of its first year of activity, the HelloSky Milan Bergamo Lounge, one of the most elegant, extensively equipped and fitted on the national and international scene, has been warmly received by its guests, to the extent of receiving the highest possible score in the survey of appreciation by airport users periodically carried out by the Airports Council International (ACI) World.

SKY ALPS TO OPERATE THE MILAN BERGAMO - BRAC ROUTE FROM 9 JULY

Following the successful opening of its routes connecting Central and Northern Europe - which are making a significant contribution to the increase in tourist flow towards the Alto-Adige region and balancing the fall in movement caused by the conflict in Eastern Europe - as well as Southern Italy and the Italian islands, with scheduled flights already operating at an average of more than 70% capacity at the beginning of the season, less than a year from the beginning of operations SKY ALPS has made a significant market move. For summer 2022, SKY ALPS TOUR OPERATOR will be running the only direct flight for a Croatian island - the spectacular BRAC, a journey of one hour and fifteen minutes - offering Italians a brand-new destination; “A side of Dalmatia you won’t expect”, offering premium services (selected hotels and cruises around the archipelago) for a refined market at highly accessible prices.

FOR SUMMER 2022, VUELING WILL BE OPERATING FLIGHTS FROM MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT TO PARIS

Vueling, an airline belonging to the IAG group, will be operating 56 routes in 16 Italian airports for summer 2022. In particular, Vueling will be offering flights to and from Paris Orly and Milan Bergamo - Orio Al Serio (up to 3 times a week) for the entire summer period. “Vueling continues to focus on Italy, proving to be a key airline for the country”, commented Jordi Pla Pintre, Network Director for Vueling. “The aim is to maintain a solid standing in the market and continue to offer interesting routes to our passengers, with increasingly dedicated services in an ever-more sustainable manner”.

ANADOLUJET STARTS THE NEW FLIGHT CONNECTION BETWEEN MILAN BERGAMO AND ISTANBUL SABIHA GOKCEN

AnadoluJet, a trademark of Turkish Airlines, starts today 2022 May 16th the new route between Milan Bergamo and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen. The arrival of the first flight at 11:45 am, operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, was greeted by the traditional water cannon salute of the Orio al Serio Fire Brigade. Scheduled in a daily basis, the new route provides a direct access to the city of Istanbul and it offers the opportunity to connect with the Turkish domestic and international network of AnadoluJet and Turkish Airlines, including Baku, Tbilisi, Tehran, Baghdad, Dubai, Bahrain, Damman, Jeddah, Kuwait and Tel Aviv.
